AutoCAD 20.1 Patch With Serial Key Download X64 [Latest-2022]
In 2014, Autodesk released AutoCAD WS, a Web-based application that connects to a company’s existing AutoCAD network, which is offered as a subscription service.
History [ edit ]
Autodesk brought CAD and drafting to the microcomputer market in 1982. The company originally intended to develop CAD for Apple II. CAD Director was the first software released for the Apple II platform in 1982. In 1983, John Walker wrote a GUI for the Apple II called DRAW. This enabled the Apple II to become the first commercial CAD/drafting system. John Walker was hired by Autodesk in 1986 to work on the next generation of CAD. Walker worked on the development of drawing and B-receiver, which was developed in parallel with a new CAD product called Microstation.
Competitors to AutoCAD were DeskTop-CAD, MicroStation, Sibelius, CAD Packages, and several others.
Also, beginning in 1982, Autodesk released a series of products called SCAD (Scalable Computer-Aided Drafting), or simply SCAD for short. These products included SCAD AutoCAD and SCAD MicroStation. SCAD systems were an evolution of the microcomputer CAD market, aimed at medium to large companies that already owned a mainframe-based system, as well as at schools that wanted to do design without the cost and hassle of buying a new system.
Starting in 1985, Autodesk also released a series of three video game competitors to the SCAD: AutoCAD Raster, AutoCAD Graphics (for Atari 8-bit), and AutoCAD 3D (for PC).
Several years after the launch of AutoCAD, Autodesk released AutoCAD LT (for Windows), AutoCAD for Mac, and AutoCAD Web. AutoCAD Web allows users to design with the web browser.
Application [ edit ]
AutoCAD is used for designing, engineering and drafting purpose. It is the de facto industry standard for most commercial CAD users.
At a high level, AutoCAD is like a solid 3D calculator, but it can also have special emphasis on certain feature. When compared to the Microsoft Visio, the major differences are:
Visio is generally a proprietary application, whereas AutoCAD is an open-source/open-standard software suite.
Visio is desktop, whereas AutoC

AutoCAD 2022 Crack 2000 introduced the concept of “main drawing files” (MDLs) to replace the conventional concept of one main drawing file per project. This allows multiple drawing files to be defined as “subdrawing files” (SDLs) and to include “overlays”, which are bitmaps defining the “frame” of the current drawing. These are stored as resources which can be combined with an MDL as defined drawings.
AutoCAD 2000 introduced block numbering, the idea of which is to link the “unique number” to the drawing’s description file. This number is used for drawing numbering, block numbering and geometric numbering.
AutoCAD 2001 added the concept of blocks, an extension of graphical entities that are grouped for manipulation. The term block also refers to an instance of a block in AutoCAD. A block is identified by a number and is represented by a collection of other entities (e.g., lines, arcs, circles, text, and text boxes) that together define its appearance and behavior.
The AutoCAD 2002 release included the introduction of floating windows in the application.
AutoCAD 2002 introduced many features specific to the architectural field, including a drawing editor for 3D construction, associative construction, 2D/3D drafting, digital elevation modeling, advanced entity manipulation, and building information modeling (BIM) templates for architectural design. The architectural field was also one of the first to have parametric and robust modeling features as a standard.
AutoCAD 2003 introduced scripting, the ability to write scripts to automate various tasks in AutoCAD. The scripting language is designed to be similar to other programming languages, including BASIC, VBScript, C#, and Java. With scripting, users can create their own macros or customize existing macros created by others.
AutoCAD 2004 released a host of new features including, two-dimensional (2D) workflow improvements, drawing annotation tools, dynamic annotation tools, drafting and design tools, intelligent object recognition, and support for the file format PowerPoint.
AutoCAD 2004 introduced intelligent objects, objects that can recognize themselves as objects. AutoCAD can recognize tools and annotations as objects. Some examples of intelligent objects are line segment, polygons, polylines, spline, text, and points.
AutoCAD 2005 introduced the idea of multi-platform compatibility, where a single code base could run on various hardware and operating systems.
AutoCAD 2006 introduced several

What’s New in the?
This new feature allows you to import all of the annotated content from a PDF or paper drawing into your drawing with minimal editing. Then you can easily make changes to the drawing without having to redraw. You can see the differences and compare your existing work and any changes you make to a snapshot that’s been captured in the format of your choice. Import feedback into your drawings easily and quickly, even for large drawings.
Markup Assist makes it easy to track and comment on changes made to the design, and automatically incorporate those changes into your drawing.
You can easily add and format comments and other changes to your drawings, right from within AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
Add comments and notes directly into drawing layers or sections with markup Assist, and then export them as a PDF or paper file for review.
Rapid Data Entry:
Enter data quickly and accurately. See all the data you need on one screen, then quickly make your edits, so you can get back to your design faster. (video: 1:30 min.)
When you are entering data, you can see all of the data you need on the same screen. You can use Quick Data Entry to easily add, edit, or delete multiple items at once. You can use the Quick Data Entry to enter a large amount of data in just a few seconds.
Quick Data Entry makes it easy to enter data quickly and accurately, so you can get back to your design faster. You can also use this feature to identify and resolve conflicts and errors that may be associated with your drawing.
3D Tools for Drafting and Design:
Save time and accelerate design by sharing 3D models directly from your computer and AutoCAD. (video: 1:30 min.)
When you need to collaborate on your designs, create and share 3D models directly from your computer. Using AutoCAD LT, you can create and share 3D models from your drawings on all major 3D applications including Autodesk’s 3ds Max, Autodesk’s Rhino, and Autodesk’s 3ds Max and Autodesk’s Fusion. Using 3D models, you can accelerate your design process and share your work.
