Hello,
I have about 15 detrended FITS files created by the MUSE software. I am
using the version of the software which is available from
I can’t open them
using the toolbox provided in the FITS file itself. I get the following
error when opening using the external program:
“Wrong number of dimensions in image descriptor”.
I have tried to open the files in the software, but they are not
detrended, they are filled with random values. I can’t even see the
actual data itself.
Can someone help me open these files?

What’s New in the DeconTools?

A Python script (with scikits-learn module) developed to help a user find out if the VOCMS obtained data set is suitable for deconvolution in the case of peak-overlap between peaks of different peaks.

Usage:
DeconTools is a script that can be used in the case of two components: 1. molecules having only one isotopic form (e.g. ^13^C isotope is not present in the samples) and 2. peaks of various isotopes with the same molecular mass.

The first step of the script is to read data and to determine isotopic signatures of each component.
After that, the script is applied to the data: the obtained results are compared with expected results to detect the following phenomena:

Overlaps of peaks: overlapping peaks can be detected in the case of peak pairs where the peak of one component overlaps with the peak of another. This type of peaks are expected to be seen at the end of the data set.
J-pair detection (J-pairs). Peaks can be detected in the case of peaks with different mass but with same or similar isotopic signatures. A peak can be defined as a J-pair when the mass of the two peaks differ by less than 2 mDa. These peaks are expected to be seen in the data set at the beginning of the run.
Single isotopic peaks: in the case of isotopic peaks having the same mass but different signatures, they are expected to be seen at the end of the data set.

In the case of overlaps, the script returns the masses of the J-pair, a) if the peaks are above the threshold mass difference (expected is ±1 mDa for the first- and second-order overlaps) and b) if the two peaks have the same isotopic signatures. If the script returns no overlaps, it is still possible that the peaks are J-pairs. In this case, the script returns the isotopic signatures of the peaks and their masses.

For the detection of single isotopic peaks, the script returns the isotopic signatures and masses. If the detected isotopic signatures have a mass difference of 1 mDa, the script returns that the peaks have different isotopic form.
